commonplot is free to use. Pro adds more monthly AI usage, advanced AI models, image generation, automatic full-text translation on save, and more notebooks and storage.

## What uses AI usage [#what-uses-ai-usage]

- AI chat (each answer step)
- Full-text translation
- Audio overviews (script and speech)
- Image generation

Advanced models, higher reasoning effort, and longer answers use more. Reading, saving, organizing notebooks, and editing documents by hand don't use AI usage.

## Check your usage [#check-your-usage]

**Settings → Plan & usage**, or **AI usage** in the user menu, shows:

- How much of this period you've used, as a percentage
- When it resets
- Storage used

AI usage resets monthly. When it runs out, new AI actions pause with an upgrade prompt; your saved content is unaffected. If you see that a model is busy, the AI service is temporarily limited; try again shortly, no upgrade needed.

## Upgrade and manage your subscription [#upgrade-and-manage-your-subscription]

Choose **Upgrade** in **Settings → Plan & usage** to subscribe to Pro. Subscribers choose **Manage** to open billing, update the payment method, or cancel.
